Tillamook Serenity Club is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation that addresses the problem of addiction in our county. Established in April of 2003, we have welcomed hundreds of people recovering from substance abuse, gambling, co-dependancy and other compulsions. We are a recovery center offering support in long-term recovery from addiction by providing an encouraging environment for those 12-step organizations wishing to rent meeting space at our facility.

We happened upon a little house. It was cold and lonely and a little burnt on the edges. We made a decision to love the little house, so we cleaned and we hammered and we laughed while we worked. We planned and we hoped and we cried while we worked. Finally, the little house began to feel better. One by one the people came, looking for answers, looking for safety, looking for a new life. These were the people of no hope, no friends, no community. They had lost all their love and given away all their future. In that little house they found what they were looking for. Compassion lived there; hope lived there.
They found people there who taught you how to respect yourself without hurting someone else. They taught you how to surrender with all your heart and how to tell the truth all day long, and how not to give up no matter what.
The little house grew stronger, and brighter, and full. People came from all around to visit the little house. To find what they had been looking for. On any given evening you may witness miracles taking place. Things that could never be, became real. Hearts that were broken were healed. Prayers and wishes that were once squandered were now being paid forward. And all through the little house magic and wonder would abide. Colors become brighter. Laughter became sweeter and once forgotten dreams become achievable yet again.
Beautiful stories are shared there. Stories of love and friendship, times gone by, and old friends that were lost who now walk the path on the other side. Our questions are answered there in the little house. Where to go next, how to go on without them, who to follow, where to lead. Each day you can find a student or a teacher there in the little house. Never having to stand alone. Always being met where you are.
Over the years the little house has been a vessel for celebration and accomplishment, mourning and heartache, camaraderie, and friendship. It is common practice to witness tears of joy and of pain in the same afternoon. But always with a spark of hope and belief in better days to come. For it is in this togetherness, that the little house offers, where we find our strength. For this group of broken-down and dying, come to understand that truly, Fellowship means Life.
This is the story of the Tillamook Serenity club. May it always stand strong for all who need it.
